Central Wales Cup Rd 2

Montgomery Town 9 - 0 Knighton Town

Montgomery made light work of this second round encounter cantering to a massive 9-0 win.

Stuart Buckley-Robins was the star of the show bagging four goals. The rout started after 25 minutes when the home side were awarded a penalty after the visiting keeper felled Buckley-Robins and Lee Jones converted the spot kick.

Just before the break Buckley-Robins scored his first after a move involving Pete Mills, Shane Kirkham and Luke Tanner.

Ten minutes into the second period Buckley-Robins finished at the near post with a Zola type flick after a short corner taken by Jamie Bocking and clipped in by Kirkham.

On the hour the home side scored their fourth. After good pressure by Bocking he put in Luke Weaver who smashed in from eighteen yards.

Ten minutes later substitute Tony Meredith unselfishly laid square after being put through by Bocking to allow Buckley-Robins to complete his hatrick when it was easier to tap in himself.

The seventy fifth minute saw full back Daniel Lewis burst clear to round the keeper with ease to slot home number six.

Two minutes later Buckley-Robins scored his fourth after Meredith had had a shot parried by the keeper and the live wire winger was on hand to finish from an almost impossible angle.

The eighth was from another shot that the keeper failed to hold. This time it was Bocking who shot and Weaver finished.

The final goal of the afternoon was a route one effort. Home keeper Steve Goodwin launched a long kick up field; Meredith latched onto it and finished with ease.
